ABERDEEN goalkeeper Kelle Roos has enjoyed a perfect start to life in Scotland – and the Dutchman hopes that he and his team-mates can keep the good times rolling with a victory over Raith Rovers tomorrow afternoon.
Three games, three wins and three clean sheets makes for impressive reading for Dons fans, whose team have came flying out of the traps for the group stages of the Premier Sports Cup.
Three points from tomorrow’s encounter at Pittodrie would guarantee the north east club’s progression to the knockout stages of the tournament and Roos, who joined from Derby County this summer, believes the team are shaping up nicely ahead of the opening game of the league season away to Celtic a week tomorrow.
“It had been good so far and I focused on getting settled in very quickly,” said the 30-year-old. “I have a little family with me and I think off the pitch it is important to settle as quick as you can before the season starts.
“When the season starts you only focus on football because that is what we are here for. Off the pitch it has been really good and on the pitch I think that shows. It has been positive so far.
“I probably haven’t been tested personally as much but at the same time it is always important to keep your standards high. In the games so far you can see we are building towards something good.
“Everyone sees new bodies coming into the building, everyone is on their toes. Everyone wants to perform and buy into the ideas the staff has for us. For me, that includes the goal keeping coach as well.
“Everyone is very excited first and foremost but we also realise that we are very early in the season. And things still have to knit together to go to the next level so that we are ready to compete in the league after Sunday as well.”
