Keith Duffy revealed his son Jay has landed a major role on “the biggest streaming show in the world”.
The Dublin born singer, 47, who catapulted to fame in the 90s as part of Irish boyband Boyzone, before dipping his own toes in acting, said is son is set to follow his famous footsteps.
Gushing over his 26-year-old son's budding career, the father-of-two said: “He’s an actor, so he could be working for six months and have six months off. Jay’s had years of anxiety over whether or not he made the right choice.”
“He’s done lots of stuff but you’re constantly waiting on that big one to arrive. Now he’s landed it. A really big one.”
But the No Matter What hitmaker, who is currently one part of singing duo Boyzlife alongside former Westlife singer Brian McFadden, kept tight-lipped on what show it is, but hinted he's set to take on the US in the new role.
Speaking to OK! Magazine about his new single with Boyzlife, which is set to be released in May, Keith teased: “I can’t. It’s the biggest streaming show in the world, so you can probably guess from that. Next year I think he’ll blow up in America.”
Jay Duffy is no stranger to the screen, having worked on Hollyoaks, as well as Vikings and Derry Girls.
Keith has also dabbled with acting himself, starring on Coronation Street as Ciaran McCarthy.
He and his wife Lisa, who he married in 1998, are also parents to a 21-year-old daughter named Mia.
He told how she loves to watch his career, added: “My daughter loves everything. Brian is like her uncle and she still gets starstruck when he enters the house.”
