Fans of the 1994 hit movie 'Speed' have reason to be excited as Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock recently discussed the possibility of a third film in the franchise. The actors, who portrayed Officer Jack Traven and Annie Porter in the original film, shared their thoughts on the matter during a conversation on the podcast '50 MPH'.
Reeves expressed confidence in their ability to deliver a successful sequel, stating, 'We’d freakin’ knock it out of the park.' Bullock echoed his sentiments, emphasizing the natural chemistry they share on screen, saying, 'There’s no formula. It just is.'
While discussing potential scenarios for a reunion, Bullock humorously suggested that they might appear in wheelchairs, with walkers, or on little scooters at Disneyland. Despite the lighthearted tone, she expressed a genuine desire to work with Reeves again, stating, 'Before I die, before I leave this planet, I do think that Keanu and I need to do something in front of the camera.'
Bullock also reflected on her experience with the original 'Speed,' revealing that she wasn't initially a top choice for the role of Annie Porter. However, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity, calling it 'some of the best moments of my life.' The actress went on to star in the sequel, 'Speed 2: Cruise Control,' alongside Jason Patric, as Reeves did not return for the second installment.
Despite their absence from the 'Speed' sequel, Reeves and Bullock reunited on screen in the 2006 romantic fantasy film 'The Lake House.' The duo's enduring chemistry and the success of their past collaborations have left fans eagerly anticipating the possibility of seeing them together in another high-octane adventure.
