Kay Burley has criticised Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to move in the Cotswolds amid their security issues.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have laid down roots in Oxfordshire after moving back to the UK from Montecito, California.
They hit the headlines this week after pulling their children Archie, seven, and Lillibet, five, out of the prep school they had just enrolled in over safety fears.
Harry and Meghan have decided to switch to another facility after their convoy of cars taking the kids to school reportedly became separated on a traffic-heavy journey.
Former Sky News presenter Kay has now pointed out the “obvious” flaw in the Sussexes’ decision to relocate to the area.
“Prince Harry has taken Archie and Lilibet out of their new school. After two days,” she posted on X.
Kay went on: “Apparently, the children are being moved to another school after concerns were reportedly raised about the practicalities of getting them there safely. The problem? Heavy traffic and the security implications of the school run.
“I live in that part of the Cotswolds and can testify to rush hour challenges. Which does rather beg the obvious question: did nobody think about any of this before term started?”
Meghan and Harry enrolled their children in a new school after the lengthy journey to the old one and heavy traffic put their security team under strain, Hello! magazine reported.
A family spokesman told the magazine: “The decision for the children to move school was taken following a discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements.
“The parents remain extremely grateful to all the teachers and staff for the love, care and effort they have shown their family. This decision should in no way be interpreted as a reflection on the school or the exceptional care the children have received there.”
The Sussexes moved back to the UK two weeks ago after six years in the US, with Meghan rumoured to be returning to acting again.
The Cotswolds, which has recently become a hotspot for celebrities like the Beckhams and Simon Cowell, often faces heavy traffic due to congestion on narrow country lanes.
Jeremy Clarkson has faced backlash in the past over the traffic caused by his pub, The Farmer’s Dog, in the Cotswolds village of Asthall near Burford and his nearby Diddly Squat Farm Shop.
The former Top Gear host, 66, has thousands of fans travelling from all over the world to catch a glimpse of him at the pub or farm shop - which appears in his Amazon Prime series, Clarkson's Farm.
