Katy Perry's New Single 'Lifetimes' Underperforms On Spotify Worldwide.

Katy Perry

Pop sensation Katy Perry has recently released her latest single 'Lifetimes' from her upcoming album '143', but the track has failed to make a significant impact on streaming platforms, particularly Spotify.

Despite high expectations for the new song, 'Lifetimes' has struggled to gain traction on Spotify since its release on August 9. The track debuted at No. 198 on the list of most-streamed songs in the U.S., with 351,000 streams on its first day. However, it quickly dropped off the ranking and has not reappeared since.

On a global scale, 'Lifetimes' fared slightly better, entering the global Spotify chart at No. 145 with 1.426 million plays in the first 24 hours. Nevertheless, similar to its U.S. performance, the song quickly disappeared from the global ranking after one day.

While 'Lifetimes' has struggled in terms of streaming numbers, it has seen better success in terms of sales. The track remains in the top 10 on the iTunes global ranking, indicating stronger performance in terms of purchases compared to streaming.

This is not the first time Perry has faced challenges with streaming performance. Her previous single 'Woman's World' also had a lackluster showing on Spotify, debuting at No. 110 on the U.S. ranking before dropping off entirely.

As the music industry continues to evolve with streaming platforms playing a crucial role in determining a song's success, Perry's latest singles highlight the challenges artists face in achieving widespread popularity in the digital age.
