Katy Perry's Coronation seating plan blunder leaves Royal fans in stitches

Singing sensation Katy Perry left Royal fans in stitches after seemingly being unable to find her seat during Saturday's celebrations for King Charles's Coronation.

The historic ceremony at Westminster Abbey took place today on Saturday, May 6, and saw thousands of people line the streets of Buckingham Palace to pay their respects to the new King and his wife Camilla who was officially crowned as Queen.

The couple were crowned following the sad death of Queen Elizabeth last September at the landmark event in London in front of 2000 guests which included the 38-year-old I Kissed a Girl singer.

It comes as Katy is set to take to the stage for the upcoming Coronation concert tomorrow, alongside icons Lionel Richie, Freya Ridings, Andrea Bocelli and Tiwa Savage.

A social media clip reported by the Mirror saw the singer frantically pacing up and down the aisle at Westminster Abbey seeking help from British Vogue editor Edward Enninful before pointing at a chair and eventually finding her seat.

The tweet prompted fans to poke fun at Perry, who is an ambassador for The British Asian Trust, a charity founded by the King when he was Prince of Wales.

One user joked that the singer’s lost seat “should’ve been the throne but I don’t know what happened”.

It's not the only mishap spotted by the public after Perry appeared to lose her footing as she left the King and Queen’s coronation service. she was supported by other guests after she nearly took a tumble on her way out of Westminster Abbey.

"It's giving John Travolta meme energy," one laughed whilst someone else added: "Legend has it she’s still looking for that seat."

A third laughed, making reference to her hit track Fireworks: "At that moment she felt a bit like a plastic bag", in reference to her song Firework.

Former X Factor contestants Jedward shared their thoughts on Katy's outfit and more specifically the size of her huge pink fascinator hat laughing: "Spaceship hat was ready for takeoff."

Katy, who was wearing a bespoke lilac skirt suit by Vivienne Westwood, took to Twitter to respond after tens of thousands liked and shared the footage.

“Don’t worry guys I found my seat,” tweeted the singer, who will perform at Sunday’s Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle.

Meanwhile, Katy has been gearing up for her royal debut and told Extra TV that she was "excited" for her "wild" sleepover at the castle.

She said: "I'm really excited… I might be posting a lot because I'm gonna be in a castle, for real. This is wild."

Promising her fans she would be giving them "what they deserve very soon", Katy claimed her Coronation experience was "very regal" and that the request aligned with "all her values."

"It was very regal, I loved it," Katy explained. "I'm an ambassador to one of his foundations for the British Asian Trust, which primarily focuses on ending child trafficking, which is a huge issue of our time that people don't talk enough about, and it just aligned with all my values… He asked me to sing and it all aligned."
