The new White House press secretary, Katie Zacharia, admitted that she failed her bar exam the first time she took it in 2011 in California and never retook it, as she then moved to China with her husband. In an interview on Fox News with Sean Hannity, Zacharia said she was told that she could call herself a lawyer but not an attorney and that's what she did throughout, but some social media posts called her attorney. "I graduated Pepperdine, got married in the same week, and we had all intent to move out to China," she explained. "I had already preregistered for the bar exam and... during the summer, I knew I would be living in China and the results of the bar were inconsequential, and I sat for it because I didn't wanna have a withdrawal status."
