Katie Taylor v Chantelle Cameron tickets: Fans furious over 'absolute shambles' online sale

A number of Katie Taylor fans were left disappointed on Monday as they attempted to purchase tickets for her Dublin homecoming fight against Chantelle Cameron.

Tickets went on sale via the 3Arena venue pre sale at 10am yesterday, with general sale ticket sales starting at 10am on Wednesday.

However, people had problems trying to purchase the pre-sale tickets from Ticketmaster, with a number of them taking to social media to vent their frustrations.

One wrote: "An absolute shambles. Waiting all morning for Katie Taylor tickets. Error after error after error. Looks like they are gone now. And as usual you won’t address it!"

Someone else said: "What’s going on with the Katie Taylor presale tickets? Just keeps saying something went wrong? Nobody can get them?"

Another person commented: "I was in the queue since 8am for the Katie Taylor tickets and my it kept saying that my code didn’t work."

One other fan added: "Can you confirm if the pre-sale tickets for Katie Taylor are gone or not ? Had tickets, approved in my bank app and then I got an error message!!!!"

Taylor will aim to become a two-weight undisputed champion when she faces English fighter Cameron on May 20 and the Bray Bomber believes the bout could be a fight of the year contender.

She said recently: “I think this could be another fight of the year contender, but ultimately I do have more experience in the bigger fights.

“I’ve fought the better opponents and I’m going to be mentally, physically and spiritually more prepared than ever.

“I do expect a tough fight obviously, but please God I’ll be going home a two-weight undisputed champion.

“She has a spotless career, undisputed champion and she has the style to make this another epic.”

Meanwhile, Cameron commented: “I’ve got to say, all thanks to Katie because women’s boxing is flying and if it wasn’t for Katie and (American three-weight world champion) Claressa (Shields), none of us women would be here.

“There’s a lot of respect there. But this is my career and my legacy and I’m coming to win.

“Katie is pound-for-pound the best women’s boxer there is and if I can win I can walk away from boxing one day and think ‘I took out the best there is’.”

Promoter Hearn added: “Two undefeated fighters, two reigning undisputed champions, the first time in boxing that two reigning undisputed champions have faced off against each other.

“It will be an incredible night, not just for Irish sport, but all sport around the world.”
