Katie Taylor is set to return to the ring next month, although an opponent has yet to be confirmed for the undefeated Irish boxing great.

Returning to the venue in which she made her professional debut, Katie Taylor will headline Wembley Arena on October 29, promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed.

Taylor is set to put her undisputed WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO lightweight world titles on the line in London against an opponent who is yet to be named but is believed to be a mandatory challenger.

"We're going to make an announcement on Friday," Hearn told Ariel Helwani on Wednesday's edition of The MMA Hour.
"But October 29, Katie Taylor will return - watch this space! She has a number of mandatories to take care of.
"We're also going to keep a keen eye on Cris Cyborg, who I believe has got a boxing debut coming up. [Katie] won't be fighting her on October 29 but that could be one for maybe the end of the year or very early next year.
"We're still talking the Amanda Serrano rematch, as well. But the legend shall return on October 29 in London. She'll be headlining back where she debuted, at Wembley Arena."
Background
Despite turning 36 in July, Taylor seems to have no intention of hanging up her gloves any time soon and she has targeted the biggest fights before she does eventually retire.
After Taylor's razor-close victory over Amanda Serrano in New York in April, talk immediately turned to a potential rematch in Croke Park but Serrano declined, although she seems to have changed her tune on that in recent weeks.
Taylor has also been linked with clashes against former UFC champions Cris Cyborg and Holly Holm but first, she seems determined to keep busy and tick a mandatory challenger off the list.
The London 2012 gold medallist has amassed a perfect professional record of 21-0, with six knockouts, since entering the pro ranks in 2016.
