Katie Taylor has given a special shout out to Conor McGregor and said that she is "grateful" for his support ahead of her homecoming fight in Dublin's 3Arena.
Katie, 36, is set to fight in her first professional bout in Ireland on May 20 in the 3Arena against England's Chantelle Cameron. For months there was uncertainty over the venue. McGregor had previously voiced his support for Katie by having discussions with boxing promoter Eddie Hearn for the bout to take place in Croke Park, before the 3Arena was eventually chosen as the venue.
Taking to Instagram, Katie posted: "I’m very grateful to @tidlsport and @thenotoriousmma for their support ahead of a special night for me this weekend." In response, McGregor liked her post and shared a crown emoji.
The tickets for the Katie Taylor's fight in the 3Arena were quickly snapped up after they went on sale last month, although there are some still available on Ticketmaster. However, the remaining tickets for the Bray Bomber's homecoming bout range in price from €511 to over €1,500.
It comes as The Notorious revealed on social media that he has 21 spare tickets to Katie Taylor's fight in the 3Arena on Saturday. The former two-weight UFC champion took to Twitter on Monday to say that he had 21 spare tickets for the event.
McGregor wrote: "What’s the story folks I’ve a couple of mega Katie Taylor announcements coming all this week, for our Katie's fight! Multiple days back to back! But first I want to announce that I have 22 tickets to the fight itself, in the exclusive “G Cash” seats. I only need one seat myself.
"So 21. Join the G Cash team if you wish to see and support our Katie fight in these prestigious seats. Hit me up. And only of course if you can personally contact me. A G cash. Have a seat."
Currently, Katie Taylor is at 4/7 to win the fight in the 3Arena on Saturday while Cameron can be found at odds of 11/8. A draw is currently 14/1.
