Ella Thompson, a 15-year-old boxer from Meath who was inspired by world champion Katie Taylor on the Late Late Toy Show in 2019, is emulating her role model.
Thompson, a boxer from Dunboyne Boxing Club, won the Irish Junior Championship at 46 kg last weekend at the National Stadium.
Taylor surprised Thompson by making a surprise guest appearance on The Late Late Toy Show, the most watched TV show in Ireland in 2019.
The Bray native gave the youngster the gloves she had worn during one of her world title fights and wished her luck for the future.

Later, in early 2020, she trained with the Dunboyne fighter and engaged in combat with her.
Thompson has continued to advance in her chosen sport, which has led to her success at the All-Ireland level.
Prior to her eagerly anticipated Irish professional debut at the 3Arena on May 20, Taylor is currently in her Connecticut training camp in the United States.
Chantelle Cameron is the undefeated super lightweight champion and will put her five world titles on the line against Taylor.
The Olympic gold medalist has never fought professionally in Ireland, therefore, her 3Arena homecoming will go down in history.
