Katie Price’s soon-to-be ex-husband Lee Andrews has offered to transfer Good Morning Britain hosts Ed Balls and Susanna Reid £10,000 in a bizarre voice note sent to the programme.
Andrews, who is believed to be in jail in Dubai, was due to appear on the ITV programme alongside his estranged wife on Wednesday (16 September) morning.
But, as has become a pattern with Andrews’ scheduled trips to the UK, the businessman was forced to pull out of the interview at the last minute as he says he is still being held in prison.
Andrews was supposed to be appearing on the show to address claims that he has just £2.22 in his cryptocurrency wallet, despite claiming to be a crypto-multimillionaire.
Price has claimed she discovered her husband was lying about his crypto money after sharing a link to his online wallet with a friend, who explained what the various figures meant.
As he was unable to face questions in the studio, Andrews sent the GMB team a WhatsApp voice note, in which he claimed his wife “was exposing the wrong amount in the wrong wallet”.
He said he had sent the show’s producers a link to the correct wallet, adding: “You can see for yourself, I hope it actually shows by Wednesday that there is 50 million USDT there, which has been legitimately made.
“So there's been no wool pulled over one's eyes.”
USDT is a stablecoin used by crypto-traders to exchange various cryptocurrencies.
Andrews continued: “I can confirm that I do have the funds. Kate's actually called me a liar on many occasions because she's been looking at, or taking, information from third parties because she's not very crypto-savvy.
“So obviously she gave my information out, and the story was sold, which I was not happy about. I do have the funds in the wallet, she has my wallet address and I can do any movement on there.”
Doubling down, he added: “I'll even send your hosts a thousand pounds or ten thousand, what they want to show the movement, and that it's mine. I've got no issues [with] that.”
Price, who married Andrews in Dubai just weeks after meeting him in January, deleted all traces of her husband from her Instagram account earlier this week.
Confirming their split, she said on GMB: “‘I feel embarrassed because I feel he scammed my heart.
“I love him, but who is he? I love the man I met, but I just can’t take it. I’m not stupid. I’ve been stupid. Well, obviously, I was stupid to fall for him. Now it’s really sad.”
Price added that she has long suspected Andrews was lying about his millions, recalling one particular incident that set off alarm bells.
“He would send me pictures and videos of this house that was worth £40 million or £30 million. So when I'm in Dubai he'd drive me to the house,” she said. “But we could never go in for some reason.
“He said, ‘Oh, in Dubai, you know, if you've got a civil matter, they take charge of your house until you pay the bill before they let you in’.”
Andrews is believed to be in jail over unpaid debts and claims that while the issue has been resolved, he has been unable to get time of a judge to secure his freedom.
During his tumultuous marriage to Price, he has faced multiple accusations of being a scammer, which he has repeatedly denied.
