Katie Price takes on Stacey Solomon as she attempts to reinvent herself as DIY queen

Katie Price will be back on our screens this week as she launches her newTV show named Mucky Mansion.

In a bid to reinvent herself, Katie is said to be eyeing up Stacey Solomon's position as DIY queen.

But the star has some stiff competition if she wants to become the new go-to DIY star on TV, reports the Mirror.

The mum to five's new Channel 4 show will see her roll her sleeves up and begin to transform her 19-room vandalised mansion in West Sussex into the family's "forever home".

Apparently Katie, 43, will be getting a helping hand from her son Harvey, 19, mum Amy and sister Sophie.

Along the way she hopes to show viewers how she'll fix up building.

In a series of pictures promoting the show, she is seen with paint brush in hand as well as ready for action holding a drill.

But the former glamour model will have her work cut out if she wants to compete with popular DIY'er Stacey Solomon, who fronts BBC's Sort Your Life Out.

Stacey has a big following on social media as she renovates Pickle Cottage and shares DIY hacks.

However, undeterred, a source told new! magazine: "Katie would love to be the next Stacey Solomon".

"She is trying to turn her life around by being the best version of herself that she can be."

Even though she's coined the name for her show's title, Katie is said to be "upset" by people associating her home with filth and mess.

The source said: "She wants to create a lovely family home for her and her family to live and for the public to see that side of her."

Katie is said to take a hands-on approach during the three-part series, which sees her knock up a mood board as well as buying fake grass for son Jett's bedroom wall.

There is also the small matter of a spiritual cleanse in which the artist formerly known as Jordan tries to rid the house of a 'curse'.

Katie's kids Junior, 16 and Princess, 14 were recently reported as saying they "hated" their mum's mansion.

"While they were filming, Katie was upset to hear that Princess and Junior hate the house," a source told The Sun.

"Although she's also said she hates it, she really wants to turn the house around - she's re-doing all of the bedrooms to make it a proper home again."

In 2019, Katie took fans on a tour inside her home to try and prove it wasn't as mucky as everyone said.

However, the mission backfired when bags of rubbish were seen piled up on the floors..

At the time she said just thinking about sorting through all the mess gives her a "headache".

The Mirror has contacted Katie's representatives for comment.

Katie Price's Mucky Mansion airs on Channel 4, Wednesday, January 26, at 9pm
