Katie Price blasts I'm A Celebrity South Africa line-up as 'legends' series approaches

I'm A Celebrity South Africa's line-up, which will see "legends" from the previous 20 seasons go head to head againts one another for the title of ultimate victor, has drawn criticism from Katie Price.

Katie, who famously fell in love with Peter Andre in the jungle, has criticised the line up, which will see famous faces from previous seasons going back into camp once again. Despite bringing back crowd favourites, Katie reckons the line-up assembled is not worthy of the "legends" tag.

In her open Q&A with followers on Instagram, Katie revealed her opinions on the show and insisted that she would have made TV gold. "A lot of people are saying, am I doing I’m A Celeb? No, but I’m interested in this show," she said, according to The Sun.

"Apparently, they’re already out there filming with 'the legends'. I don’t think they’re legends,’ she said, taking a swipe at the cast. "Imagine, if they had me and Pete on it? Imagine."

Katie and Peter went on to marry in 2005 after sharing camp on the show's third series the previous year, with the Mucky Mansion owner arriving at Highclere Castle in Hampshire in a Cinderella-inspired carriage. It was truly one of the most iconic and highly-anticipated celebrity weddings of the decade.

They later welcomed Junior, 17, and Princess, 15, into their family.

I’m A Celebrity released its first look at the new camp in South Africa’s Kruger National Park, which is six times the size of the base in Australia.

It looks beautiful, but it doesn’t look like the campmates will be getting much sleep with rock-hard cots for beds and the constant fear of ‘huge black birds’ swopping down to ‘peck eyes out’, according to Janice.

I’m A Celebrity South Africa launches Monday, April 24 at 9pm on ITV.
