Katie McCabe, Megan Campbell and Marissa Sheva yesterday kicked off their World Cup preparations, as Vera Pauw's squad returned from a weekend break.
The trio hadn’t trained with their teammates up to this point.
McCabe and Campbell had been held back as part of an agreement between Pauw and their respective clubs, while Sheva had been in NWSL action with Washington Spirit.
Arsenal ace McCabe will skipper the Girls in Green in their first ever World Cup campaign on the back of a hugely successful season.
She was named Arsenal’s Player of the Season, she won the WSL Goal of the Season for her super strike against Manchester City and she made UEFA’s Champions League Team of the Year.
Campbell, now unattached, last played for Liverpool against West Ham on April 2.
She will be another key player in Australia, with her long throw-ins feared throughout the game.
US-based Denise O’Sullivan and Sinead Farrelly with both link up with the squad later this week.
Monday saw the squad return to UCD after they were given three days off in the wake of Thursday's 3-2 win over Zambia.
