Katherine Jenkins risks having to pull out of Pope's Christmas concert over lost luggage

Katherine Jenkins won't be able to perform for Pope Francis this weekend due to lost baggage.

The Welsh singer travelled to Rome, Italy, for the Christmas concert, which is happening on Saturday.

The 42-year-old blamed British Airways for losing her baggage 'again' after her flight.

She took to social media to share the news and wrote: "OMG! @British_Airways have lost my bags AGAIN!

"I’m supposed to be singing tomorrow for the Pope’s Christmas concert in Rome."

She pleaded to the airlines: "I feel so let down as I will not be able to perform. Please sort this out."

British Airways' official account took to the tweet to ask for more details about the situation.

The airline said: "We're doing everything we can to reunite our customer with their delayed baggage as soon as possible. We apologise for the inconvenience caused."

Fans immediately took to Katherine's comment section to discuss the situation ahead of her concert.

"They are terrible!! Used to be quite respectable but are now atrocious. Sorry to hear about your nightmare Kath," one user said.

Another added: "So rubbish, hope you get it sorted," while one posted: "Oh no! So sorry to hear that. Hope you are otherwise all right and your bags are located very soon. xo."

The mezzo-soprano is known for her out-of-this-world voice and has performed for many lavish affairs.

In September this year, the 45-year-old was the first to record a version of the new national anthem, God Save The King, as Charles became King.

She said it was a "huge honour" to be selected to record the national anthem for BBC Radio 4.

Katherine, who has performed for the Royal Family and the late Queen many times, explained: "I have only the fondest memories singing the national anthem for Her Majesty The Queen, memories I will always cherish.

"While my heart is heavy with grief, singing this today for the first time is a huge honour and was sung with the belief that King Charles III’s reign will be happy and glorious."

The singer recorded the anthem in a small church in a humble part of Sussex and even took a moment of silence before she 'sang from the heart'.

She has performed on a number of occasions for the Queen, including her 90th birthday celebrations at Windsor Castle in 2016.
