Legendary actress Kate Winslet had one of the most heartwarming reactions to being reunited with Leonardo DiCaprio.
In an interview with The Guardian published on Thursday, Winslet revealed that she “couldn’t stop crying” when she finally met with her Titanic and Revolutionary Road co-star in Los Angeles after three years.
“I couldn’t stop crying. I’ve known him for half my life! It’s not as if I’ve found myself in New York or he’s been in London and there’s been a chance to have dinner or grab a coffee and a catchup,” the seven-time Oscar nominee told the outlet.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, they were unable to see each other.
“Like so many friendships globally, we’ve missed each other because of Covid. He’s my friend, my really close friend. We’re bonded for life.”
Winslet and DiCaprio met each other on the set of the 1997 Oscar-winning drama Titanic .
“I turned 21 on that shoot, and Leo turned 22. It wasn’t pleasant for any of us, but we were all in it together. Though he had way more days off than I ever bloody did. I guess I was raised to be grateful and just get on with it,” Winslet said.

In February 2016, Winslet told PEOPLE about her long-term friendship with DiCaprio and how he has evolved.
“He’s a solid, loyal person. He’s a great friend, he always has been, and not just to me, but to everyone around him …He’s a stronger actor in this moment than he’s ever been,” she said, in part.
Winslet stars in the HBO series The Mare of Easttown as Mare Sheehan, a small-town Pennsylvania detective Mare Sheehan who investigates a local murder.
The further explores the dark side of a close-knit community and how family and tragedies past can define the present moment.
