Kate Winslet Reunites With 'Titanic' Co-Star During Film Scoring

Kate Winslet

Kate Winslet recently shared a heartwarming anecdote about a special encounter she had while working on her new film 'Lee.' The Oscar-winning actress appeared on 'The Graham Norton Show' to discuss her role as the iconic fashion model-turned-war photographer Lee Miller in the World War II era.

Winslet revealed that 'Lee' marked her first experience as a full-on producer, requiring her involvement from the beginning to the end of the project, including overseeing the film's scoring in post-production. During the recording of the film's score in London with a 120-piece orchestra, Winslet noticed a familiar face among the musicians.

Initially puzzled by the violinist's identity, Winslet's curiosity was piqued when other musicians in the orchestra confirmed his significance with gestures and whispers. At the end of the day, Winslet approached the mystery violinist and was delighted to discover that he was one of the musicians who played on the ill-fated Titanic ocean liner in the iconic 1997 film directed by James Cameron.

She reflected on the meaningful connections she encountered while working on 'Lee,' noting that many familiar faces from her past projects or industry peers showed up to support her during the film's production.

'Lee' was released in theaters in late September and is now available for rental or purchase on AppleTV+ and Amazon Prime. The film showcases Winslet's talent both in front of the camera as the lead actress and behind the scenes as a dedicated producer, highlighting her commitment to storytelling and collaboration in the film industry.
