Kate Middleton sports £8 earrings from Accessorize to abseil down cliff in Wales

Kate Middleton and Prince William are in Wales for an official visit. The Prince and Princess of Wales arrived at a wet and windy area of the Bannau Brycheiniog near Merthyr Tydfil on Thursday, April 27 to meet with the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team.

During their trip, the royal couple showed off their abseiling skills as they learnt first hand how volunteers train and the work they have been carrying out over the past 60 years. When asked by instructors if he had abseiled before, William said: "It's been a while."

Before heading over the edge Kate was heard telling William: "We're not racing." You can keep up with live updates on Kate and William's trip to Wales with our live blog here.

Thrifty Kate, who often upcycles her outfits, wore gold earrings from Accessorise for the occasion that only cost only £8. According to the Express.co.uk, the 41-year-old opted for the Pearl And Disc Hoop Earrings from the high-street store.

On the website, the description reads: "Can't decide what earrings to wear? This pair is so full of detail that you'll never have to choose again. Crafted in a twisted huggie hoop profile, these earrings feature both a molten coin and pearl charm that hangs off the hoop."

Kate paired the earrings with a £90 pair of G-Star high G-shape cargo skinny trousers and a £600 coat. She finished off the look with a a camouflage cap and Berghaus £175 hiking boots.

The royal couple are also set to visit Dowlais Rugby Club and the owners of the Little Dragon Pizza Van. At the club they will get a chance to speak to individual volunteers, the organisation's supporters and members of the local community.
