Kate Middleton's strict condition on 'Prince George playing key Coronation role'

It may be the Coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla - but other royals could be set to feature in the historic service in two months' time.

Among those expected to play a role will be Prince William - the future King and heir to the throne.

But he is not believed to be the only future King in attendance at the spectacle on May 6.

His nine-year-old son Prince George will also more than likely be there to watch his grandfather be crowned, and it has been reported Charles is eager for his eldest grandson to play a role in the ceremony.

However, it has been suggested that George's parents William and Kate have a strict condition about the part he will play.

According to the Sunday Times, the Prince and Princess of Wales are due to meet with Charles and Camilla soon to discuss a role for George.

And even though all are said to be keen for him to feature, William and Kate reportedly want the role to not "subject him to overwhelming scrutiny".

If he does take part in the ceremony, it would be a break from tradition as during the past two ceremonies, young heirs (Charles and Elizabeth II) did not take part and watched from the congregation.

Royal historian Hugo Vickers told the Sunday Times: "Bringing George in also sends all the right symbolism for the future and gives him something he will always remember. It is certainly different — this coronation is getting more interesting by the minute."

Meanwhile, The Telegraph reports that among those in the congregation will also be William and Kate's younger children Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who will be spectators.

Historian Dr Tessa Dunlop previously told the Mirror history points to the children also being seen in their finery alongside the adults at the Coronation.

She said: "George alongside siblings Charlotte and Louis will be a big visual pull at the coronation – just as Prince Charles was at his mother's.

"Expect Charlotte in a dainty coronet [small crown] - perhaps even the one the late Queen wore to her father's coronation aged 10 - and the two brothers in frock coats and breeches.

"Kate loves dressing up her children, so objections are unlikely. And the money shot everyone will want is a snap of the three siblings in their finery alongside the King and the Queen on Buckingham Palace balcony after the service."

The final guest list and the roles all the royals will play at the Coronation are yet to be confirmed.
