Kate Middleton's parents 'to welcome Ukrainian refugees to £5million mansion'

Kate Middleton 's parents are set to host Ukrainian refugees in their mansion, it is claimed.

Carole and Michael Middleton are reportedly looking into building an annexe at their manor in Bucklebury, Berkshire, to house the refugees.

The couple may have been inspired by their broadcaster neighbour Chris Tarrant, who opened his home to a family fleeing the Russian invasion.

A source told the Mail on Sunday : "Carole talked about wanting refugees to feel they have their own space in her home and has been talking about the logistics of how it all works.

"There have been a few conversations about this, back and forth.

"Carole suggested she and some of those who are housing refugees should meet up, to get to know each other and because she wants to find a way to house refugees herself."

One of the plans reportedly under consideration is converting one of the living rooms at their £5million home into separate accommodation for the family.

However, the couple need to figure out a way to ensure the plan is safe as Kate and William often visit the home with their children - and their security stay in the main house.

Chris Tarrant previously said hosting a Ukrainian family was a "delightful" experience.

He said: "They're just so sweet. Absolutely delightful. It's a mum, a daughter whose about 30 and a dear little baby, 10-months-old, and it's just amazing.

"They were sleeping on the floors in airports in Poland and now they're at my place and the little baby, you look at it, and it's 10 months, dear little girl just about trying to walk and you just think, 'what would your life be like if you were still back there?' in that sick, evil world they're experiencing, it's just horrific."

Chris said he was livid at the UK Government's list of rules and checks stopping others wanting to offer Ukrainian refugees a home.

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge previously described how their children had been affected by the Ukrainian refugee crisis during a visit to a relief centre.

Future Queen Kate appeared to be wrought with emotion as she and husband Prince William went to the Ukrainian Cultural Centre in Holland Park, West London, in March.

Prince William said: “It’s very alien to see this in Europe. We are all behind you.”

He added that he, like many, wanted to do more to help.

"We feel so useless,” he said.

He and Kate, 40, wore Ukrainian yellow and blue solidarity badges and took trays of chocolate brownies and granola bars, homemade at Kensington Palace, for the volunteers.
