Kate Middleton's heartwarming response after little boy tells her he 'loves her'

The Duchess of Cambridge seemed to make a host of new friends while visiting a kindergarten in Copenhagen.

Kate visited the Forest Kindergarten on the outskirts of the Danish capital earlier this week while on a two-day trip to the country.

Adorable images from the engagement show the duchess joining with the children as they skipped around the forest, learning about how they get back to nature.

At one point she even took on the challenge of splitting a log after watching five-year-olds complete the task.

Surrounded by children dressed in outdoor onesies, teaching assistant Carla Bro, 21, told Kate to spread her legs and grip the hammer before she chopped the wood on her third go.

And Kate's have-a-go attitude certainly seemed to impress one little boy at the kindergarten.

Footage from the visit shows the little boy walking up to Kate, who is sitting on a bench, to seemingly tell her that he loves her.

And Kate's response to the little one is equally heartwarming as she embraces him in a cuddle and appears to tell him "I love you too."

The sweet moment came on the second day of Kate's whirlwind trip to Denmark earlier this week, where she packed in a number of engagements.

On the first day of her Danish tour, Kate met health visitors and new parents to highlight the importance of children's social development in their early years.

She met two baby boys, both aged eight months, and joked "it makes me very broody."

“William always worries about me meeting under one-year-olds. I come home saying ‘let’s have another one’,” she added.

Meanwhile, on the same day, she also whizzed down a slide at the LEGO Foundation PlayLab, where she learned about the importance of play.

Also on the visit, she met with Denmark's Queen Margrethe and Crown Princess Mary - and later visited a crisis shelter with the princess that helps women and children who have been exposed to domestic violence.
