Kate Middleton's Christmas present from Prince William sells out instantly

Some earrings worn by Kate Middleton have sold out after she wore them in public, according to reports.

The Sun reported that the Princess of Wales wore the earrings outdoors at Sandringham Estate after receiving them as a gift from her husband William, the Prince of Wales. The ocean blue Dina earrings reportedly cost £100 from high street brand Sezane. The Sun say the earrings then sold out.

Prince William recently visited the Welsh Parliament, his first ever visit to the Senedd. While there he addressed recent controversy that he was supporting England at the World Cup in Qatar instead of Wales - you can read about his visit here, as well as an analysis for the future role of the Prince of Wales title here.

Regarding the earrings, Emily Sanchez tweeted: “They are gorgeous earrings, she is bound to love them. I wish my husband was as thoughtful as William!”

Kate Middleton was given the title of Princess of Wales shortly after King Charles III ascended the throne. She was joined by her three children at Sandringham as they enjoyed a traditional Christmas Day church service. Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven, and four-year-old Prince Louis all attended, with the youngest holding his mum's hand.

Members of the public who had braved the cold to gather outside the church listened to the service played over speakers. They were also supplied with service sheets so they could sing along.

After the 45-minute service, members of the royal family took the time to speak to some of the people who came to see them. Gemma Clark, 42, said: "I love them to bits, especially the children, the children are amazing. Prince Louis - I love Louis. He's always cheeky, that Louis is, but I love him." She said she gave each of the three children a novelty toy called a gonk, which is like a festive gnome with a pointed hat. They said 'thank you very much' and 'happy Christmas'. I also met the king as well, just for a brief minute. The king is absolutely gorgeous, I like King Charles III, I think he's going to be an amazing king, I really do."
