Prince Louis has yet to make his Wimbledon debut alongside his family, but the Prince and Princess of Wales's youngest child is just as passionate about tennis as the rest of them. At this year’s Men’s Final, the Princess was joined by William and their two oldest children, George and Charlotte.
Eight-year-old Louis didn’t join - likely as London is experiencing soaring temperatures that could prove tricky for the youngster. But Kate reportedly revealed that her son has ambitions of taking on a special Wimbledon job.
As reported in The Standard, ball girl Jenna Fontanilla shared, "[The Princess of Wales] told me about how Louis was asking her about how to become a ball boy, and we were talking about how much hard work it is to be on court and how we work alongside the ball kids, and it’s just so lovely."
So it seems we might potentially see Prince Louis out on the Wimbledon court itself rather than in the Royal Box in the future.
Speaking about what it was like meeting Kate, Jenna added, "She’s so genuine. It felt so easy. I thought I was going to be really nervous, but she made it so easy. The conversation was very natural."
Kate's love of tennis is well-known and she's even received praise for her skills on the court from eight-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer. The two have played a few rounds together before and it seems Louis has definitely inherited her passion for the sport just like George and Charlotte.
In 2023, an official who runs youth programs at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club told PA News that Kate said Louis was "very upset he wasn’t coming" to the final along with his older siblings. The Princess reportedly added, "It's Charlotte's first time, George came last year. They've been eagerly watching".
That same year, a teen Wimbledon ball boy named Joel also told the Press Association that Louis had already begun practicing to become a ball boy.
She told the young ball boy that Louis "tries to practice the standing and staying serious like us... He tries to practice the stands and how we stand at the back of the court and next to the players."

Both Prince George and Princess Charlotte were the age Louis is now when they first joined their parents in the Royal Box. Even though he wasn't there this year, Prince Louis does still get to attend plenty of major events with his family.
He's become a highlight at the annual Trooping the Colour parade, often delighting fans with his cheeky reactions and excitement at the fly-past. Prince Louis was also present at Queen Elizabeth's 2022 Platinum Jubilee festivities and King Charles's 2023 coronation.
