Kate Middleton made unfortunate blunder while back to school shopping with George and Charlotte

Kate Middleton made an unfortunate blunder while out getting some final school shopping with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The Duchess of Cambridge and her husband, Prince William, are going very busy, just like many other parents, preparing their two eldest kids for returning to school.

However, after announcing their recent move, George and Charlotte will be attending a new school, Lambrook School.

Like all parents around this time of year, it is a jam-packed time getting school uniforms, backpacks, stationery and shoes bought during the back-to-school rush.

One of the most challenging excursions is getting new school shoes, with much of the time spent arguing with your children.

Kate found herself making a common mistake all parents do at least once while finding the right footwear.

She was seen out shopping with George and Charlotte back in 2018 at the Peter Jones department store in London.

A source told Hello! that Kate found herself in a predicament after forgetting to bring some socks for her kids to change into while trying on new shoes.

Instead, the pair arrived at the department store in their summer sandals. Thankfully, help was on hand as Kate was able to borrow some socks from the shop.

While George and Charlotte have been attending Thomas's School Battersea since beginning their education, this September marks a change.

The Cambridge family have relocated away from the capital and now spend the majority of their time in a four-bedroom home on the Windsor estate.

They had been living in Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace but wanted to be closer to Queen Elizabeth.

Kensington Palace announced the school choice in a statement, saying: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have today announced that Prince George , Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will attend Lambrook School in Berkshire from September 2022.

"Their Royal Highnesses are hugely grateful to Thomas's Battersea where George and Charlotte have had a happy start to their education since 2017 and 2019 respectively and are pleased to have found a school for all three of their children which shares a similar ethos and values to Thomas's."
