The Duchess of Cambridge was officially welcomed to Denmark by the country's Queen Margrethe and Crown Princess Mary.
Kate met the 81-year-old monarch and her 50-year-old daughter-in-law at Christian IX’s Palace in Copenhagen today.
She looked stylish as she wore a beautiful grey Catherine Walker coat dress and paired it with black heels.
After the meeting of the three women, Kate and Mary walked across the palace courtyard to head to a private lunch.
Later, the pair, who have met a number of times in the UK and Denmark, also visited the Danner Crisis Centre.
The shelter helps women and children who have been exposed to domestic violence and is supported by the Mary Foundation, founded by the Crown Princess in 2007.
The palace meeting came as Kate's solo visit to Denmark is also paying tribute to the historic ties Britain shares with the country as well as their joint jubilees.
This year the Queen celebrates her Platinum Jubilee while Queen Margrethe is marking her Golden Jubilee of 50 years on the Danish throne.
Kate is on a two-day visit to Denmark, which is also a fact-finding trip to better understand the country’s world-leading approach to the early years development of children.

Earlier today, she joined children at their Forest Kindergarten in Copenhagen and took part in outdoor activities with the youngsters who are taught part of the year in the open air.
She was pictured wielding an axe to chop wood and also joined in with children's games.
On her first day of her Danish tour, Kate met health visitors and new parents to highlight the importance of children's social development.
She discussed the universal struggle of parenthood where even the most well-educated can find it difficult to ask for support and praised fathers for taking time off work to spend with their babies.
And she remarked that she is "broody" and joked that Prince William worries about her working with under-ones because she comes home saying "let's have another one."
Meanwhile on a visit to the LEGO Foundation PlayLab yesterday, Kate was left in fits in giggles after whizzing down a slide.
The PlayLab has a huge slide that Kate was shown the top of - and she could have taken the stairs back down to the ground.
But daring Kate opted to have a go herself at the twisting slide and couldn't contain her laughter as she appeared at the bottom with her hands in the air.
She then said: "In the spirit of where I am, I had to do that!"
