Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte melt hearts with 'mummy and daughter' moment

Kate Middleton and her daughter Princess Charlotte melted royal fans' hearts after the pair shared an adorable moment together during the traditional Easter Sunday service at Windsor Castle.

At the Sunday morning service, Charlotte delighted royal fans with her own cute "shy wave" just after her mum Kate greeted crowds with her own signature wave alongside other senior members of the family.

The Princess of Wales waved to spectators as her daughter Charlotte, seven, who was wearing a pretty blue spring-styled pattered dress, took note of her mum's greeting and later did the same in a sweet moment which captured the hearts of the nation.

Royal fans noticed the mini-me moment as they gushed over the love and bond between the mother and daughter, according to reports in The Express.

One person wrote on Twitter: "I love this! A mummy & Charlotte moment... so much love between them it's palpable."

Another said: "So adorable Princess Charlotte waits for The Princess of Wales to join her. Not without my mummy."

"William and Catherine are doing such a lovely job raising their children. So beautiful to see children show respect to adults," a third person quipped.

King Charles and Queen Camilla were also in attendance at the annual royal event which marks the first Easter Sunday service with Charles as monarch following the late Queen Elizabeth's passing in September last year.

The Princess of Wales was looking stylish as always sporting a classic and elegant blue Catherine Walker coat and matching pill-box hat with the theme of blue set the scene over the weekend among royal attendees with the King and Queen Consort also donning matching royal blue outfits.

The Prince and Princess of Wales were joined by their three children, Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven, and four-year-old Prince Louis.

William and Prince George walked side-by-side wearing matching navy suits while Princess Charlotte held her dad's hand as they arrived.

It marked Prince Louis' debut as the first time he had come to an Easter service making his mark in style as he was seen wearing a smart suit jacket and light blue shorts.

Among other royal attendees were the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh who arrived with their son James, the Earl of Wessex.

Princess Beatrice came with her husband, Eduardo Mapelli Mozzi along with her sister Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank. Mike and Zara Tindall were also spotted in attendance with their two daughters Mia and Lena.

The service marked a poignant moment in history for the royal family due to the fact it was the first one without the late Queen Elizabeth, with the chapel also being where the late Queen's final resting place is.

The late monarch was buried at the small King George VI Memorial Chapel alongside her husband Prince Philip, the late Duke of Edinburgh.

Her father George VI and the Queen Mother are also buried there with all their names inscribed on a black stone slab on the floor.
