The days of early rises, packed lunches, and school runs are second nature for parents across the UK. But at one particular educational establishment the school run is a more regal and star-studded affair.
School gate gatherings at Thomas’s School in Battersea, South West London have a real A List flavour. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge top the roster of celebrity parents with Prince George and Princess Charlotte in Year 4 and Year 2 respectively. Meanwhile, Prince Louis is expected to join St Thomas's come September this year.
While it's likely an exciting prospect for the parents of Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s classmates to see the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge most mornings as they do the school drop off, it would seem they are not the only parents who attract attention, reports MyLondon.
And it seems the royal couple are not the only parents who attract attention. According to a source, the other parents in the playground pay little attention: One parent explained to a newspaper: "No one really gives Kate a second glance when she does the school drop-off. We have a Victoria's Secret model doing the school run, too, and the dads are far more interested in her."
Other parents who are likely to gain attention are Lord and Lady Frederick Windsor. Their daughter, Maud Elizabeth Daphne Marina is also a student at Thomas’s School and is thought to be a classmate of her cousin Prince George.
Maud’s mother is actress Sophie Winkleman, famous for roles in the sitcom Two and a Half Men, and Peep Show.
However, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge could be preparing to send their three children to a new school in Berkshire in the future. It has been revealed that Prince George went along to the school for a trial day recently when he joined in with a class at Lambrook School where it was reported that he went unrecognised by his fellow students.
Rumours have swirled for several months that Prince George is preparing to move to a new school in Windsor - with Lambrook having long topped the list. It was reported that Prince William and his wife have visited Lambrook "half a dozen times" and they are now thought to be sending Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to the school if the family make a permanent move to Windsor to be closer to The Queen.
But it won't be cheap. Total school fees will amount to a staggering £71,344 a year, but that should not trouble the royal family.
