The private mother-daughter outing drew praise for its ordinary setting and quickly became a talking point across social media.
While many praised the informality of the trip, others compared it with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's appearances, particularly around royal security and the publicity surrounding both families. Kensington Palace has not suggested the journey was arranged for publicity.
