Kate Garraway says the past two days have been like 'trudging uphill on ice' as she shared an update on her personal life. The Good Morning Britain presenter added she had comfort as her Spring flowers had began to bloom.
Much-loved Kate, 55, is continuing to care for her husband Derek Draper whose health has been deteriorating since catching coronavirus in March 2020. In a post on Twitter in Tuesday, she said: "So this is why I love nature and gardening so much.
"After a tricky 48 hours of feeling like I am trudging uphill on ice, my first Crocus bursts up - the spirit of life and hope in gorgeous yellow form."
Along with the post, Kate shared an image of her flowers, writes The Mirror. It wasn't long before her followers reacted to the post as one person wrote: "Sending you some huge hugs Kate."
Someone else replied: "These little pleasures make the struggles seem unimportant. We’ve been on that icy slope for seven years hoping for the day when it melts. In the meantime we’ll just have to don some sturdy boots. Sending hope to you and your family."
A third penned: "I totally agree Kate. It makes me smile and feel like we can look forward to the months ahead. Nature makes you feel good in a busy, hectic world that we live in. Take care to you and your family."
Derek, who is a former political advisor, spent months in hospital after he contracted the virus and is believed to be one of the worst affected living Covid patients.
On World Mental Health Day, Kate spoke candidly about her feelings. She admitted she has been sometimes "frustrated, emotional and depressed" caring for Derek, but desperately "wants him to survive".
