Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway had a hilarious reaction to the latest romance blossoming on Love Island after Amber Beckford and Dami Hope enjoyed a surprise kiss.
As the Islanders prepared to welcome two bombshells, coupled up scientist Dami, 26, and nanny Amber, 24, the couple tested whether they have real chemistry after the public voted to couple them up.
Dami leaned in for a kiss with Amber, but when the clip was played on Good Morning Britain on Thursday morning hosts Kate and Ben Shephard were slightly taken about by the amount of tongue.
After the ITV studio played the clip, a sceptical Ben said: “I think kissing has changed since my day. That wasn't quite how I remember it.”
Kate then savagely joked: “It was more like licking an ice cream. What was that?”
Ben agreed before entertainment reporter Richard Arnold joked: “I haven't gone in for one for years.”
Kate asked: “Is there no head tilt anymore? It's front on.”
Fellow presenter Charlotte Hawkins then weighed in, saying: “You've never seen yourself kissing somebody else, so how do you know what you look like when you're kissing them?”
Richard came back joking: “You look like you're unlocking your jaw.”
Fellow Love Island fans were similarly left cringing at the kissing moment, saying there was a little too much tongue in the snog.
Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: “Notttt Amber and Dami doinggggg sooo much tongue kissing.”
Another added: “Grosss.. Sloppy kissing. Hate the sound and watching people kiss like that.”
A fellow viewer said alongside a crying emoji: “My hand is over my mouth Dami and Amber’s kiss was so cringe. Kissing each other like soft serve ice cream. “I’m actually buzzing” oh God no.”
Another wrote: “I love Dami but that kiss was a horror.”
The kiss came after the pair have been getting to know each other, but Amber admitted she wasn't sure if Dami was putting in enough effort.
Amber told the microbiologist that she's keen to get to know him better and see a more fun side of him.
In a conversation in the garden, Amber told Dami: “Don’t be so serious with me,” but he said he thought he was the more serious with him.
“I’m not serious at all. I want you to be you," Amber replied.
Dami later told Amber: “You’ve been giving me eyes. I can see your eyes looking at me and I keep thinking, am I in trouble?”
The childcare specialist said: “You see me watching you! I’m intrigued by you. I’m trying to work out what you’re thinking.”
Dami saw this as the perfect opportunity to get a little closer to the stunning Londoner.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
