Kate Garraway has taken to Twitter to respond to rumours before they 'get a life of their own'.
A Good Morning Britain viewer had slammed the TV presenter alongside Richard Madeley on the social media platform. They claimed Kate had backed the idea of the NHS being privatised.
User Vince Rooster wrote: "Both Kate Garraway & Richard Madeley on @GMB advocating privatisation of the #NHS!!!" Other Twitter users replied to the post with disbelief as Kate has relied heavily on the health service since her husband Derek Draper took ill after contracting coronavirus.

Addressing the rumours directly, Kate Tweeted a response to the claims. She wrote: "Ok - before this gets a life of its own from whoever originally misheard.. I didn’t at any point say the NHS should be privatised or anything even like it?!! Ever."
Former New Labour adviser Derek spent 374 days in hospital and is still suffering multiple health issues after fighting off the virus. Kate has charted her husband's gruelling road to recovery across two documentaries over the past year.
Speaking about one of her documentaries while appearing on ITV's This Morning, Kate praised the carers the family now relied on as she said they were 'extraordinary'. Holly said: "That's what what really struck me about it is the amount of care he needs. Like this is around the clock isn't it?"
Kate replied: "Yeah and because of his extreme health needs, he does have 24 hour care so somebody has to be awake at night and somebody has to be awake during the day and I can't be awake 24 hours so it's fantastic to have that." Kate also revealed Derek could die 'within three days' if he stopped receiving proper care.
She said: "It's life or death care still. If Derek didn't have somebody with him, he would never have any nutrition go into his body or water. He would be dead within three days."
