Kate Garraway has showed support for one of her husband Derek Draper's "amazing" carers. She shared a sweet snap on social media of the carer, named only as Jake, holding Derek's hand at his bedside.
The broadcaster and journalist praised Jake after finding out he's also a musician, describing his new song as "full of love and inspiration". Followers of the Good Morning Britain presenter may remember the carer after he featured in her award-winning documentary, Caring for Derek, last year.
The ITV programme - a follow-up to 2021 documentary Kate Garraway: Finding Derek - gave an insight their family life as the former political advisor continues to battle long-term health problems from Covid-19. Derek was in hospital for more than a year after he contracting the coronavirus in March 2020 - and he still requires constant care at home, reports LancsLive.

In her latest post on Instagram, mum of two Kate shared the photo of Derek and Jake together. The host of Kate Garraway's Life Stories encouraged her 1.1 million followers to support his music.
The 55-year-old wrote: "Many of you will remember Jake who cared for Derek when he first came out of hospital in April '21 - from the documentary Caring For Derek. So you will know what a wonderful healthcare professional he is.
"But have just found out he’s also an amazing musician - under the name @sencymiller.x - He’s just released a song called Okukuseku (check it out in his bio) - which no surprise is full of love & inspiration to keep going & never give up. The world of carers never fails to surprise me with their depths of talent , thoughtfulness and motivation!"
Jake - aka Sency Miller - responded to her post by writing: "Thank you so much and it’s a big privilege to be there for Derek". Others also praised the carer, with TV's Dr Amir Khan commenting: "He is a wonderful human".
Tina wrote to Jake: "Thanks to you and all the other fantastic carers out there. You are all fabulous xxx". Caz added: "So many people would be lost without genuine loving carers like yourself & it really is appreciated!"
