Kate and William's unusual bedroom arrangements at Kensington Palace

Prince William and Kate Middleton have three homes in the UK, but their formal address is Kensington Palace in London. When not in London the family could be found in Anmer Hall in Norfolk, or at the cottage, Tam-Na-Ghar, on The Queen's Balmoral estate in Aberdeenshire.

But insiders have given a sneak look inside their main address in Kensignton - which while known as an apartment is actually four-storeys complete with its own gym. Among the unusual set-ups at the address, the royal bedrooms are all located on the ground floor, while the upstairs of Apartment 1A is usually used by staff, who have nine rooms of their own, reports Gloucestershire Live.

The apartment, which has a basement and an attic, also comes with a lift for getting between the floors, according to OK. The property is reported to be ‘enormous’ Explaining why it is referred to as an ‘apartment’ on True Royalty's Royal Beat, British royal author Christopher Warwick said: “All of these royal residences at Kensington Palace are called apartments, which of course makes people immediately think they are flats like the American term for an apartment.
