Kate and William have something very sweet in common

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had somewhat different childhoods. The young Prince lived at home in Kensington Palace and in the public eye, whereas the young Kate had a more normal upbringing at home in the Berkshire countryside.

However, in some ways, their childhoods were not so different and, in particular, there's one experience the pair definitely have in common. William's grandmother is of course, the Queen, and he has always had a very close relationship with her. Similarly Kate, although her grandmother isn't a royal, had a wonderful relationship with her own family matriarch.

Kate has been speaking on Giovanna Fletcher's podcast, Happy Mum, Happy Baby, and the Duchess revealed some stories from her younger days involving her grandmother. She said: "I had an amazing granny who devoted a lot of time to us, playing with us, doing arts and crafts and going to the greenhouse to do gardening, and cooking with us."
