Karnataka on Sunday reported 1,001 new cases of COVID-19, the maximum of which were from Bengaluru Urban with 485.
As many as 18 people succumbed to the virus taking the death toll to 39,795. Bengaluru Urban reported 12 deaths, while Ballari, Belagavi, Shivamogga, and Tumakuru recorded one death each.
Across the State, 1,780 people were discharged. With this, the total number of recoveries stands at 38,84,120. There are currently 12,634 active cases in Karnataka.
The positivity rate for the day was 1.42%, while the case fatality rate was 1.79%.
With the fall in new cases, testing has also dropped: 70,290 tests were conducted including 53,503 RT-PCR tests.
