Karnataka: None can make India Congress-mukt, says Mohammed Haris Nalapad

MANGALURU: “None can make a Congress-free India. The Congress will come to power in the upcoming assembly election in the state,” said Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (KPYCC) president Mohammed Haris Nalapad

Speaking at the Yuva Jagruthi convention on Wednesday, he said, “It is the Congress which had fought for India’s independence. Neither BJP, RSS, nor SDPI or PFI were there at that time. Though the BJP claims of freeing India from the Congress, it is not possible, as India’s history is Congress’ history.”

“Attempts are being made to divide the country on the lines of religion. We are all Indians. If anyone faces injustice, then it is injustice to Indians,” he said, and urged youths to become more aware, for the Congress to come to power in the assembly and Lok Sabha elections, and asked the youth to work in a united manner towards this goal.

On the membership drive, he said that Dakshina Kannada is lagging behind in the digital membership drive. For organising the party, the membership drive must be taken up seriously, he said.

Former minister Ramanath Rai said that Dakshina Kannada district is communally sensitive. “Fundamentalism is dangerous for the growth of the country, and several murders have taken place in the district over communal issues,” he said. Former minister Abhayachandra Jain urged the Congress to give opportunities to youth.

Congress leader Mithun Rai said that the BJP thinks that the party will come to power only through communal clashes.
