Karnataka high court allows Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited to cut 21 more trees for two corridors

BENGALURU: The high court on Tuesday permitted Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) to cut/ remove 21 trees along two under-construction Metro corridors.

On June 10, the tree officer of Bengaluru Urban district passed an order for removal of 14 trees for the construction of Metro rail between Silk Board signal and Kadubeesanahalli junction. On March 3, another order was passed on an application seeking permission to cut seven trees for underground Metro (reach 6) work along Vellara Junction stretch.
