Karnataka had 10% of EVs registered across India in 2021

BENGALURU: Registration of electric vehicles (EVs) in Karnataka jumped by 242% in 2021 compared to 2020, pushing the total EV population in the state to nearly 90,000, reports Chethan Kumar.

Karnataka accounted for more than 10% of all EVs registered in the country in 2021, next only to Uttar Pradesh. Some 33,307 EVs were registered in Karnataka and 66,707 in UP. The two states together accounted for 31% of the EVs registered — more than 3.2 lakh — nationally.
