MANGALURU: One of the senior priests of the Diocese of Mangalore, Rev Fr Gregory William Vas passed away at Fr Muller Hospital, on Wednesday. He was 81.
Fr Gregory William Vas hailing from Agrar/Farla was born to Joseph Vas and P Vas on May 25, 1941. He was ordained priest for the Diocese of Mangalore on December 3, 1966.
Fr Vas served as an assistant parish priest at Milagres Church, Mangaluru. He served as Parish Priest at Puttur, Kulshekar and Paldane. He served as headmaster at Milagres School, Mangaluru. He also served as a teacher at Milagres School in Kallianpur, Udupi. After Spending two years as Socious at Milagres Church, he moved to St Zuze Vaz Home for Senoir Priests in Nandigudda.
Fr Vas’s funeral mass and burial service will be held at St Vincent Ferrer Church, Valencia, on Friday evening.
