Hubballi: CM Basavaraj Bommai was confident of winning all four teachers' and graduates' constituencies of the legislative council in the elections on Monday.
Contaminated water: Probe on, 2 suspended
Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai has directed police to book criminal cases, if necessary, against those responsible for the deaths due to consumption of contaminated water in Raichur.
"Two officials have been suspended. Samples of water from all wards in Raichur city are being collected," he said in Hubballi. The CM has ordered a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased. Several people, including children, were hospitalised after consuming contaminated water.
The CM had asked the Karnataka Water Supply and Sewerage Board's chief engineer to conduct a thorough inquiry.
