HUBBALLI: Hubballi is all set to get its first electric crematorium facility set up at Harichandra burial ground, Mantur Road. The newly set up electrical crematorium and garden will be inaugurated by chief minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday.
It has been a long pending demand of the people of Hubballi city to construct an electric crematorium due to the lack of proper facilities for cremation in city’s graveyards and concerns over pollution caused by the existing system of burning bodies in the open using firewoods. As the city is also growing by leaps and bounds, demand for well-equipped crematorium has gone up.
