BENGALURU: Traditionally seen as the stronghold of Congress and JD(S), a triangular fight appears in the offing in Old Mysuru region as the BJP is determined to make inroads in the Vokkaliga belt in next year’s assembly elections.
The BJP’s state leadership has stepped up efforts to consolidate Vokkaliga votes after the party’s chief poll strategist, Amit Shah, issued a directive to this effect during his visit earlier this month. But Congress and JD(S) are not taking the challenge lightly.
