Karnataka BJP MLA's son caught red-handed by Lokayukta Police while accepting Rs 40-lakh bribe

BENGALURU: In what could be a big blow to ruling BJP ahead of assembly polls in Karnataka, son of a party MLA was caught red handed by Lokayukta police while accepting bribe of Rs 40 lakh from a private person.

The successful trap was laid on Thursday evening at the office of MLA K Madal Virupakshappa on Crescent road.

Lokayukta Police arrested Virupakshappa's son V Prashant Madal, who is a chief accountant with Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board(BWSSB), and seized the alleged bribe money.
