Karl Rove, a former advisor to President George W. Bush, said at The Texas Tribune Festival that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s baggage is hurting his U.S. Senate campaign.

Paxton is running against former state Rep. James Talarico, who has made concerning statements of his own regarding transgender people’s participation in sports, gender expression and the oil and gas industry, Rove said.
