Kanye West performed to 'thousands of empty seats' after backlash over Kim and Pete jibes

Kanye West's concert was not packed to the rafters as he performed last night.

The 44-year-old took to the stage at LoanDepot Park, home to the Miami Marlinsfor his Donda 2 Experience concert yesterday but thousands of seats were left empty.

Reports claim that the thousands of $200 tickets remained unsold at the stadium and entire sections appeared vacant due to the lack of crowd.

The stadium holds 36,742 people but not all the seats could be filled due to the stage set up for Kanye's performance – which included a burning house with a stage facing just one direction towards the crowd.

It has been suggested that as many as 3,000 seats that were in the viewing area were still available for purchase two hours ahead of showtime – and were likely still not sold by the time the music started to play.

Tickets in general had cost from $150 (£110) upward to an astonishing $950 (£700) – but as the clock ticked down towards kick off, ticket prices started to tumble downwards to $45 (£33).

Ticket seller website Ticketmaster had thousands of chairs available two hours before the playback was due to begin – while thousands more were reported to be available via resale.

It is possible Kanye's poor turn out was in response to his distasteful treatment of estranged wife Kim – which Kanye himself has admitted has bordered on "harassment".

He has leaked private texts between the two and made shocking claims including he was banned from attending his daughter Chicago's fourth birthday – although photos later proved he was there.

And he also made claims that Kim had accused him of being on drugs and hiring a hitman to kill her.

When Kanye attended the recent Super Bowl event in Los Angeles, he was booed by the crowds when he was featured on the big screens at the sport arena.

It was suggested the backlash at the sporting event could have been in relation to his treatment of Kim.

Meanwhile, fans may have shunned Kanye's latest album listening event which took place on Tuesday evening – the day that many had anticipated his new album, Donda 2, was due to be released.

The star had hinted that the record would drop on the date 22-02-2022 – which is also the birthday of Kim's late father, Robert Kardashian.

However, the album has not materialised leaving fans hungry for the rumoured 22 track record.

Fans may also still be licking their wounds over the fact that Kanye has hinted he will only release his album via a streaming service called STEM player which charges $200 (£147) per person to subscribe to.

He announced his plans in an Instagram post previously, writing: “Donda 2 will only be streaming on my own platform, the stem player.

“You can download new music from stemplayer.com. You can play 4 different elements of the track: vocals, drums, bass and music."

He also claimed: "After 10 albums after being under 10 contracts. I turned down a hundred million dollar Apple deal. No one can pay me to be disrespected."

Meanwhile, Kanye has been happy to disrespect Kim's 28-year-old boyfriend Pete Davidson – branding him Skete online and seemingly threatening him in two new tracks; one titled Eazy and one titled Security.

Kim has previously begged Kanye to end his campaign of abuse against Pete fearing that his life could be in danger – and while Kanye agreed to cease targeting the Saturday Night Live star he also warned: "I’m going to handle the situation myself."
