Kanye West says he has "a right to question" the circumstances of George Floyd's tragic death, after it was reported the mother of George's daughter had sued the rapper for $250million.
In an explosive interview with Piers Morgan, the 45-year-old said he has a right to question George's death because he is "the most influential person on the planet".
Ye later offered his condolences to George's family and "anybody who loses a loved one."
Speaking to host Piers, 57, Kanye said: "Do you have friends that were killed by police officers? Do you have friends that were locked up? Do you have people aborting half your race? No.
"So I am the black person with the black experience that's worth $11 billion. And as the most influential person on the planet, I am questioning it."
He added: " I have a right to question it… You can't tell me with your accent that, me as an American, Jew, black person, that I cannot question that death."
"Anybody who loses a loved one, my heart goes out to them, any race. My heart goes out to the pain of that," Kanye later said.
The shocking interview, which airs tonight on TalkTV at 8pm, comes after Kanye recently made false comments about George's death in Minneapolis.
Ye sat down with N.O.R.E. for an interview on Drink Champs where he made the remarks.
During the 43-minute interview, the rapper made reference to a new documentary about Black Lives Matter called The Greatest Lie Ever Sold.
Ye repeated an opinion from the programme's creator, Candace Owens, that, in her opinion, George "actually died as a result of a drug overdose and other pre-existing conditions like heart disease."
George died after being arrested by Derek Chauvin and three other officers on May 25 2020.
He had been handcuffed and was lying face down on the street as Chauvin knelt on his neck for nine minutes, despite George calling out saying "I can't breathe".
His death sparked mass protests across the world and saw the birth of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Chauvin was dismissed by the Minneapolis Police Department on May 26 and arrested on May 29.
On April 20 2021, Chauvin was convicted of unintentional second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter and later sentenced to 22 1/2 years.
In December 2021, Chauvin also pled guilty to federal charges of violating George's civil rights by using unreasonable force and ignoring George's serious medical needs and was sentenced to 21 years.
