Kanye West dropped by more brands after his racist and anti-Semitic tweets

Just two years ago, Kanye West seemed to have everything he could ever wish for, he was married to Kim Kardashian with four beautiful children, he was a fashion mogul with his Yeezy brand, worth £1.7billion and made a bid for the US Presidency.

But recently, things have changed and following his recent series of racist and anti-Semitic rants, many brands have decided they no longer want to work with him.

Kanye West's waxwork has been displayed proudly in Madame Tussauds since 2015, and over the years many fans have taken selfies with the wax figure. However, yesterday Tussauds removed his waxwork, and joined a long list of businesses who wish to cut ties with West, writes The Mirror.

Following his recent behaviours, it was suggested that there are signs of mental illness. Ye is thought to have become increasingly erratic since his mother Donda passed away back in 2007. He was then diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2018, but West this week claimed there was a conspiracy to medicate him.

And now, several brands have decided to drop him, and Adidas, which collaborate with him to make the Yeezy trainers, decided to end their contract after nine years, shortly after Kanye bragged: “I can say anti-Semitic sh**, and Adidas cannot drop me.”

Balenciaga also decided to cut ties, while Gap and Foot Locker took his Yeezy trainers off sale. The 45-year-old father of four is now said to be worth just £344million, some of which comes from his 5% stake in ex Kim’s Skims fashion brand. But she too has condemned him, saying: “Hate speech is never OK.”

West was advised by his bank JP Morgan Chase to move his cash elsewhere and his talent agency CAA and lawyer have also decided to part ways with him. American Vogue said: “Neither the magazine nor editor-in-chief Anna Wintour intend to work with Kanye West again.” Film studio MRC has shelved a documentary on West, while the rapper’s stadium tour is axed.

And it seems it doesn't stop there as his global music sales are down 17.5% and many are calling for his songs to be removed from Spotify. He was also banned from popular social media sites Twitter and Instagram after posting a text exchange accusing fellow rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs of being controlled by Jewish people. West is now said to be buying social network Parler, which has alt-right links.

But this is not the first time the rapper has caused controversy. In 2018 he claimed 400 years of slavery sounded like a “choice”, released a music video showing Kim’s then-boyfriend being attacked, and backed divisive ex-US President Donald Trump. Last year, he even claimed to be “above” cancellation.
