Kanye claims Adidas 'stole my designs' after brand places partnership 'under review'

Kanye West has slammed Adidas and claimed they "stole my designs" after it was reported his lucrative partnership with the brand has been placed "under review".

The rapper, 45, has faced a furious backlash after he wore a White Lives Matter shirt at his Yeezy fashion show in Paris on Monday. He has since been called out by a number of celebrities, including Jaden Smith and Gigi Hadid.

Despite the intense criticism, Ye has doubled down on his stance and even branded the Black Lives Matter movement a "scam".

In light of the controversy, Adidas released a statement to confirm they are reviewing their partnership with the musician, although Kanye hasn't taken the news lightly.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the Gold Digger singer shared a picture of a news article announcing the company's decision.

Alongside it, he wrote in all capitals: "F**k Adidas I am Adidas. Adidas raped and stole my designs."

The Mirror has reached out to representatives of Kanye for comment.

Sports brand Adidas said in a statement: "Adidas has always been about creativity, innovation and supporting athletes and artists to achieve their vision.

It continued: "The adidas Yeezy partnership is one of the most successful collaborations in our industry’s history.

"We are proud of our team that has worked tirelessly throughout our collaboration with Ye and the iconic products that were born from it.

"We also recognise that all successful partnerships are rooted in mutual respect and shared values.

"After repeated efforts to resolve the situation, we have taken the decision to place the partnership under review. We will continue to co-manage the current product during this period."

Ye and Adidas first began collaborating in 2013, but he's been open with his criticism of the popular brand in recent months and has previously slammed them for putting out products under their Yeezy line without his permission.

Kanye has also previously announced his intention to part ways with Adidas at the end of their contract, stating: "It's time for me to go it alone."

As backlash continued to mount against Kanye, he shared a picture to Instagram of one of his White Lives Matter shirts.

He captioned the post: "Here’s my latest response when people ask me why I made a tee that says white lives matter… THEY DO."

Kanye’s close friend P Diddy defended the rapper and said his message was "misconstrued" but added "now was the time to be unapologetically Black".
