Kansas State Scored Two Points on Kansas in the Coolest Way Possible

The rules of football can be confounding. What is a catch? Depends on who you ask. How many points are kicks worth? One or three, it sort of depends.

But the convoluted rules of football are worth it when they come up in big moments, as Kansas State and Kansas showed in their rivalry match on Saturday.

The Jayhawks had just scored to go up 13–7 with the extra point pending. But before that lead could reach 14–7, the Wildcats blocked the Jayhawks’ extra point attempt, and cornerback Keenan Garber returned it all the way back to the end zone for two points.

It’s a play that doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it is marvelous. Of all the ways to score points in football, this is the coolest.

With the two-point return, Kansas State made it so the Kansas touchdown was only a net four points in the Jayhawks’ favor.
